Engineering apprentice success

At Linecross, we couldn’t do what we do without the hard work of our excellent team. Continuing our people series, we're shining a spotlight on Project Engineer, Daniel Sylvester-Smith, as he reflects on his 8-year journey at Linecross.

Reflecting on his path into engineering and what advice he would give to someone considering an engineering apprenticeship, Dan said "Without a doubt, seize the opportunity. Acknowledge that any apprenticeship is a 2-way street – the path into a successful career requires commitment from both the apprentice and the employer."

Dan Apprentice

I originally joined Linecross as part of a pilot engineering apprenticeship scheme in Rutland nearly 8 years ago within the Quality department. Now as a Project Engineer, I support the Programme Managers across both our sites with all aspects of manufacturing from New Product Introduction to shop floor systems and quality documentation. There is so much variety to my role every day and I feel really valued.
