Hampton College A-Level Students Experience Polymer Manufacturing at Linecross

Linecross welcomed A-level design students from Hampton College for a hands-on visit exploring real-world polymer manufacturing processes and engineering careers.

Supporting Future Engineers and Innovators

Linecross recently welcomed a group of A-level design students from Hampton College, Peterborough, offering them an immersive insight into modern polymer manufacturing.

With polymers forming a key part of their current studies, students were able to experience real-world applications across our broad range of processes including vacuum forming, injection moulding, compression moulding and polyurethane systems.

Bringing Classroom Theory to Life

The visit provided an opportunity to deepen their understanding of:

  • How polymer-based products are designed and manufactured
  • The role of CAD/CAM, prototyping and scaling within production
  • Trimming and assembly techniques used to finish parts

Students spent time both on the shop floor and in discussions with our engineers, linking their coursework with practical examples from industry.

A special thank you to our young project engineering team for inspiring the next generation of engineers and innovators.
