Linecross Drives Capability Growth with Major Operational Expansion

Linecross has invested £6.3m to expand its UK manufacturing capability across vacuum forming, injection moulding, polyurethane and compression moulding, strengthening capacity across three sites.

Linecross, the UK’s largest independent vacuum forming company and one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of polymer and polyurethane composite products, has significantly expanded its operational capability with major investment across its UK manufacturing sites.

Over the past three years, Linecross has grown its manufacturing footprint to more than 350,000 sq ft, operating across three UK facilities. A total investment of £6.3 million has enhanced capacity, diversified capability and strengthened the company’s ability to support customer programmes across automotive, construction, agriculture, leisure and specialist transport markets.

The investment programme has focused on expanding both scale and technical depth.

This breadth of capability allows Linecross to remain process-agnostic, supporting customers in selecting the most appropriate manufacturing route based on performance requirements, sustainability goals, lightweighting targets, investment efficiency and long-term durability.

Supporting Customers from Feasibility to Production

The enhanced operational base enables Linecross to provide impartial technical guidance from early feasibility and tool design through to full production and final supply.

“Our continued investment demonstrates a clear commitment to delivering manufacturing excellence for our customers,” said Stuart Fry, Managing Director at Linecross. “By broadening our capability and strengthening our operational base, we are better positioned to support customers at every stage, from feasibility and tool design through to production and final supply.”

Linecross now manages more than 250 tooling programmes annually, supporting complex projects across vacuum forming, injection moulding, compression moulding, polyurethane systems, advanced trimming and assembly.

Enabling Confident Manufacturing Decisions

By combining operational scale with technical depth, Linecross enables customers to make confident decisions around material selection, process choice and programme delivery.

“By combining scale with technical depth, we enable customers to make confident decisions around material selection, process choice and programme delivery,” added Stuart. “This puts us in a strong position to help customers address design constraints and production challenges across multiple sectors.”

As customer requirements continue to evolve, Linecross’ expanded facilities, technical expertise and manufacturing capacity ensure programmes can scale efficiently and reliably.
